Jessica Pegis

Jess has been developing learning resources for kids and educators for more than 20 years. She is the author of five books on subjects ranging from citizenship to media literacy, including All About Canadian Citizenship and Speaking With a Purpose (with Jo Thornton).
In 2003, Jess found her math mojo when she and Lynda Colgan of Queen’s University created a math-research-at-your-fingertips guide for Canadian elementary teachers with Pearson Education. Delving into how kids really learn and understand number concepts eventually inspired her to create TalkPlayThink, a web resource for parents interested in raising thinking kids. Jess’s e-zine KidSmart tackles a variety of parenting topics--from swearing to eating out--from the “thinking angle.”
After parenting for 10 years herself, Jess swears (in a nice way) that kids are born thinkers and that parenting’s a joy when everybody thinks first.
Visit Jess's site for more articles on thinking skills and hot thinking topics, as well as fun, brainy stuff to do with your kids.
