How to Enter

Contest Purpose

  • To encourage children to think mathematically and keep up their math skills during the summer.
  • To promote math as part of many family activities.
  • To build a free list of great ideas for kids, families, and teachers accessible on the internet for continued use after the contest ends.

Math is used in just about every part of our lives; gardening, cooking, music, art, crafts, games, travel, shopping — even sports! We all know that learning doesn't have to stop at the end of the school day — or the school year! This contest is an exciting way for children to share ideas and show how many ways they can — and do — use math in their everyday lives. In our online contest, children will see that there are others all over the world who are equally Crazy 4 Math. We know that everyone participating will learn a lot and have fun at the same time!

What do you enter?

It's simple! You share your Crazy 4 Math ideas! Describe how you use math in the activities you do. This can be any idea that promotes math in something you love to do — a sport, game, hobby, or activity. Send in a brief description and title of the activity. Don't forget to let us know the math concept you and your family have learned (i.e. algebra, the principle of infinity, measurement, probability, estimation). You can also include a drawing or diagram to represent your idea.
